Projects and Reports
Introduction to Projects
A project is a group of les r elated to a data mining task. Projects include data streams, graphs,
generated models, reports, and anything else that you have created in IBM® SPSS® Modeler. At
rst glance, it m ay seem that SPSS Modeler projects are simply a way to organize output, but they
are actually capable of much more. Using projects, you can:
Anno tate each object in the project le.
Use the CRISP-DM methodology to guide your data mining efforts. Projects also contain
a CRISP-DM He
lp system that provides details and real-world examples on data mining
with CRI SP-DM.
Add non-SPSS Mode ler objects to the project, su ch as a PowerPoint slide show used to present
your data mining goals or white papers on the algorithms that y ou plan to use.
Produc e both comprehensive and simple update reports based on your annotation s. These
reports can be generated in HTML for easy publishing on your organization’s intranet.
Note: If the project pane is not visible in the SPSS Modeler window, click Project on t he View
menu.
Objects that you a dd t o a project can be viewed in tw o ways: Classes view and CRISP-DM view.
Anything t
hat you add to a project is added to both views, and you can toggle betwe en views to
create the organization that works best.
